Albuquerque, New Mexico
Great River Technology is situated in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is the state's largest city, with a population of 560K people. The city has much to offer, with unique parts of town each with their own distinct personalities. Today's modern Uptown area is a stark contrast to Old Town which dates back to a Spanish Colony founded in 1706. Old Town boasts historic adobe buildings, five museums, and many shops filled with Native American handicrafts.
In recent years, Albuquerque has become known for its local breweries, trendy eateries and for being an actors' playground since the film industry has taken off in the state. It has hip neighborhoods, museums and attractions that illuminate the city's American Indian and Western heritages, and internationally acclaimed art galleries throughout the state. The country knows Albuquerque for its International Balloon Fiesta, which is the largest in the world, and fills the skies with balloons during the 10-day fair in October. Even on other mornings throughout the year, you can enjoy the sunrise over the Sandia Mountains with balloons often floating in the crisp air. In the evening, you can enjoy the watermelon tinted Sandia Mountain views, while outside enjoying one of the many bike paths along the Rio Grande and throughout the city.
Albuquerque is only hours away from White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns and the beautiful deserts of the Southwest, numerous mountain ranges at 11-13K feet, and many Native American Pueblos. New Mexico is rich in culture and adventure. To learn about all that New Mexico has to offer, please visit our Department of Tourism.
